April:: Re-tightening, Comparison Pictures and Updates

  • Age of my Locs: 1 year, 5 months
  • Weeks since last retie: 5 weeks
  • Length of retie:  4.5 hours
  • Slippage/Bunching/Loc Repair: My super soft temple area locs, a few of the nape locs and the one leading into my right sideburn were re-established. **Watch the video for more detailed information, but here goes...
    • I had some bunching on the back right section of my hair
    • I had some locs that were opening up (my consultant's exact words) on the back left section of my hair
  • Length: no major changes
  • Fullness: no major changes
  • Buds: I am seeing more and more buds! And the ones that I have had for a while are looking more established. I haven't seen any that have begun the "shoot" up my loc shaft(s) yet.
  • Sealed ends: none


  • Other noteworthy items
    • The back right section of my hair is locking!
    • Weekly Shampoos: I need to lighten up on how hard I am cleaning my scalp, but I can continue to shampoo weekly!

Say Hello to my Little Friends! My Sisterlocks are Established!

I will give an imaginary gold star to the first person to correctly identify that movie quote! Random, I've never even seen the actual movie, but that's pop culture for you LOL! I digress... Exercise Friendly Style- Loc Hawk

Yesterday's post retie style just felt too "poofy" so I separated the ponytail into two to ...wait, that was confusing to type...into, two, to...REWIND! I split the ponytail and made two stacked ponytails. What do you think?
