Loc Style for Short/Medium Locs- Chauncey

I lost my voice last week! I was at one point only able to whisper. But I thank The Lord for restoring my voice. I recorded a video tutorial last night for the style featured in today's post. I was able to add in one of my new pieces of hair candy and it really gave the overall style some "umph!" For those of you who are contemplating locs of any starting and maintenance method, rest assured that your styling options are only limited by your imagination...or pictures from the internet-sphere LOL! I style my locs WAYYY more than I ever styled my loose natural hair. I kept my hair in protective and/or low manipulation styles and didn't really experiment with my hair. I achieved length , but at the cost of enjoying my hair. I am making it a point to enjoy my hair and a huge part of that is styling.

February 2017 Sisterlocks Re-tightening (1 Year, 2 Months)

My February re-tightening was Friday, February 3, 2017. Here's the video of my fresh and clean grid. Age of my Locs: 1 year, 2 month, 22 days (or 64 weeks, 1 day) Weeks since last retie: 5 weeks Length of retie:  3 hours Slippage/Bunching/Loc Repair: My temple and nape locs we re-established. Length: no major changes Fullness: no major changes Buds: no major changes Sealed ends: none Other noteworthy items The locs I  accidentally cut :  all 7, plus an additional 2 were re-established/established...AND ONLY 1 SURVIVED since my last retie, so they were re-re-established Are any of my locs fully locked? Nope My consultant gave me the green light to use a small amount of light oil on my scalp if it gets dry. I must admit- I am concerned on this subjective term and how I might interpret the amount. So unless it is really dry on a consistent basis- I will hold off on using oils. I also picked up a great smelling conditioning spray!
