Sisterlocks Consultation Re-Cap

My consultation was GREAT! My consultant is so knowledgeable and extremely professional! The entire salon experience was relaxing and in alignment with the investment I am making with my hair. I could get used to some pampering!

Overall, I am really excited and am so glad that I have been documenting the pre-journey of this experience. I hope that anyone who is considering Sisterlocks will find something useful in this blog.

Following are a list of things we discussed/accomplished:
  • ways to wear my hair during exercise
  • hands-on demonstration of bundling and banding my locs
  • hands-on demonstration of how to shampoo
  • recommendations if my scalp is itchy
  • causes of bunching and how to prevent bunching
  • causes of slippage and how to prevent slippage
  • curl pattern analysis: medium length, deep width curls; average hair density
    • If anyone is interested in knowing more about this, just leave a comment and I will share what my consultant shared with me regarding these terms/definitions
  • average length of my hair: *7 inches! WHAAAT?
  • hair history, preferences, goals
  • rapport and chemistry between my consultant and myself- intangible but important!
  • review of the Sisterlocks book, official sizing guide and tools
  • establishment logistics- I will have two consultants working to complete my establishment (see my post regarding two consultants)
  • cost of my establishment (giggle...I "owe" Superman...but thankfully he worked out a payment plan for me LOL)
  • care instructions for my test locs

Click here for my plans of how I have been and will prepare my hair for my Sisterlocks Establishment.

*Here's a video of my loose hair prior to my consultation!

Say Hello to my Little Friends! My Sisterlocks are Established!

I will give an imaginary gold star to the first person to correctly identify that movie quote! Random, I've never even seen the actual movie, but that's pop culture for you LOL! I digress... My Sisterlocks (aka My Locs) are born! I'll write more in a separate post, but for now, enjoy these photos of the process.  Sisterlocks Birth Date: November 12 and 13, 2015 This will be my official length check shirt. Exercise Friendly Style- Loc Hawk

Yesterday's post retie style just felt too "poofy" so I separated the ponytail into two to ...wait, that was confusing to type...into, two, to...REWIND! I split the ponytail and made two stacked ponytails. What do you think?
